myLot Discussions| What is Alan Jackson's Best Album? | | I haven't come across an alan jackson album that I don't like. From High Mileage to Who I am, Good Time to Don't Rock the Jukebox, alan jackson in my opinion has released some of the greatest country songs in the past couple of decades.Picking a favorite is difficult, but Who I Am is certainly high on the list and his first albums, When Somebody Loves you is an alan jackson classic. I think it's hard to beat his Greatest Hits II album though, which as the title suggests, really does contain not only some of alan jackson's greatest hits, but some of country's greatest hits. | |
| | Alan Jackson | | This man just keeps putting out the hits like hot cakes! I heard yesterday on radio that he is celebrating 20 years in the country music business this year. I've seen him in concert twice and he is very good. He's going to be putting on a concert for free somewhere but I've forgotten where it was. I never did hear the details but I wouldn't be able to go. It's quite a ways from where I live. He's from Neunan, Georgia, which is right on the Alabama-Georgia stateline. I started a discussion not too long ago titled "Has anybody ever told you you look like somebody famous or somebody you admire?" Well, I met a guy at a singles' group one time who reminded me so much of Alan Jackson and I told him, too.[em]drool[/em] Yes, he really did look like him! Alan is 6'4" and this guy was 6'3" tall. He also had the mustache, only he was darker headed than Alan is. His hair wasn't quite as long as Alan's is, either. The funny thing about it was, the guy I met was also a musician.[em]whistle[/em] He sings and plays the guitar, only he does it as a hobby and he's more into bluegrass. His name was "John", btw. Also, John works on cars for a living. Alan does this as a hobby. Isn't this... | |
| | | What is your Favorite Alan Jackson Song or Video? | | I Love Alan Jackson, and have a lot of his CDS. For me, the most favorite song of mine is either "Monday Morning Church" or "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning".When it comes to Videos my all time favorite of mine is Drive. This one shows his own daughters on their even. It is great to see his family involved with his music. | |
| | | King George, Geroge Strait that is | | Tomorrow night, Wednesday night, May 27th There will be a feature on Television, CBS, to Honor King George. I for one can not wait to see this all star performance honoring one of our great country singers. I have had the privilege of seeing him in concert many times and hope to see him again this summer. I will be recording Wednesday's show. I am a huge fan, I have ever CD and can sing a long with every song. There is just not another artist out there that can do what he has and accomplish what he has in his career. Long Live King George. | |
| | Help! My Spiritual life has gone off... | | Recently, I have been struggling with maintaining my spiritual life. All of a sudden I feel so tired, worn out and feel like i haven't accomplished anything. I pray at least twice or three times a day. I read my bible at least two times a day but still I feel spiritually dry. When I went to church on Sunday the pastor talked about birthing out our miracle and one way to do that was to know God not just about him. I am desperately trying so hard to spend as much time with God and I feel like he's not there anymore.. I know he's there but I cant feel him. I dont know what am doing wrong.. I just confess my sins daily and i praise him and thank him everyday but still there is this utter dryness in me and i cant figure out whats wrong.. I just need some encouragement or some words of wisdom or if you have been in the same boat as me how did you sort it out?? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.. | |

| | Domestic Aspirations Will Take Back Seat To Foreign Policy!! | | Country singer/songwriter Alan Jackson wrote and recorded one of his first hits called, "Here in the Real World" about a decade ago. That song title is about as fitting as you can get when talking about the challenges that face the Obama presidency. In 1963, shortly after his inauguration, JFK met with then leader of the Soviet Union, Nikita Kruschev and the impression that Kruschev percieved was that off an inexperienced leader and that perception brought the US and Soviet Union as close as we have ever been to nuclear conflict! This year we have elected a president with even less credentials than JFK and, as the following article relates, may pay dearly for it. One thing is for sure, Obama will find himself so busy with foreign policy, domestic issues will be back burner for the most part. Here is the article:http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2008/11/the-real-world.html | |
