| Music the way it should be! | | I know there are many genres of music - classical - pop - alternative - rock and so on and so on and so on! What I would like to know is: Is there anyone besides myself that likes country music from "way back" like Patsy Cline, George Jones, Conway Twitty . . . you know . . . the oldies but goodies? And if you do, what is your age group and when did you start listening to country music? Did you grow up listening to The Grand Ole Opry or have you even heard of it? What is it about this music that you like? When do you like listening to it? For instance, cleaning house, when it is raining, when you are lonely, when you've had too much to drink or when???? I am just interested. I grew up with the Grand Ole Opry on Friday and Saturday nights. I listen to Tanya Tucker (Delta Dawn, What's Your Mama's name, Two Sparrows in a Hurricane, etc) when I am cleaning. I go to sleep with my radio on AM650. | groups or artists that are not on teh music scene | | Ok how many artists don't make it that we really like...All for various reasons.....Here's the list off the top of my head that I can think of1. The tractor --Remember Baby Likes to Rock it (like a Boogie Woogie Choo Choo train) My kids love that song, always have, still do.2). SixWire come They had one of the best vocals around that I ever heard great harmonies, and their label helped screw them over and wouldn't promote them.3) James Bonamy, The Swing...and others that were jsut great.So many more but these are the top 3 that I can think of, so who do you miss on the music scene, and not someone that died, because people like Conway Twitty will forever be remembered as of the greats.Mooch | |
