Did anyone see the "Adventures of Milo and Otis"?
I saw the movie last night on DVD. It's about a kitten and a pug. It's a very cute and entertaining movie. Anyone who loves animals would not get tired of seeing the movie over and over again.Last Saturday, we went to Barnes and Noble, I saw this DVD "The Adventures of Milo and Otis". But, it was so expensive so my husband decided not to buy it because he thought that we could get that at amazon in a very reasonable price and he was right. Monday morning, we received the DVD through mail[em]thumbup[/em] and we watched it last night. So cute and so funny. The cat and the dog are getting along so well. Have anyone of you seen this movie yet? If you see a DVD that you like, do you buy it at the store or go online?
Otis
I just wondered if anyone else had watched the movie Otis here recently. It's a morbid comedy, but it's actually pretty good. We rented it because my husband wanted to watch it, and at first I didn't think I was going to like it. But, actually I watched it and then wanted to watch it again. So...if anyone else has watched it, let me know what you think!:)
OTIS: Is It "Juno For the Horror Crowd?"
Otis is an Indie horror movie about a killer who kidnaps young girls and forces them into his romantic prom fantasy. The latest victim escapes with her life and her parents decide to take the law into their own hands. The movie is fairly funny, though has a little "one joke" drag to it in certain sections. My full review can be found at this link: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/816835/movie_review_otis.html?cat=40What do you think, have you seen it?The Juno for the horror crowd was a blurb on the outside of the box. Think it came from the morons over at Bloodydisgusting.
Otis Redding!!!!!
[em]rasp[/em] I want to dedicate this video, first of all to my best friend. Leslie McClain, is the adopted daughter of Louise Redding-McClain. Louise just happens to be the sister of Otis Redding. I do not think that my friend has ever seen this video, so I will show it to her tomorrow. And for all the Mylot fans who have not heard this song in a long time and/or seen the video, her you go. Was it your favorite at one time? Even though it was before my time, it use to be mine. What's up Polly, Let's get to the bay, okay?[em]rasp[/em] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzrXc68gNjQ
do you listen to otis redding?
What is Your favourite songs by Him
Alcoholic Inspiration
This movie is a biopic of a lesser country and western singer called Otis Blake. a loser all the way, he never was to hit the big times. Married too many times, drunk most of the times and fully irresponsible for almost all his actions, Otis who goes by the name, 'Bad' is well played out by Jeff Bridges courtesy as his earlier movies of similar character acting.I like the songs. They are melodic and cool.Jeff deserves the Best Actor award!See it to enjoy the inspirational songs.[em]happy[/em][em]happy[/em]
Music From Your Teen Years
[em]whistle[/em] Hi everyone:)Each "era" or generation seems to have it's own most popular groups, sounds, and songs. What was some of the most popular music/songs, etc. from your teenage years? Do you still enjoy listening to some of now?I was a teen in the 60s...so rock and roll was coming into its own...The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Motown groups, Elvis, Three Dog Night, The Everly Brothers, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix and Janice Joplin, Otis Redding, The Temptations....these are just a few of the groups/people that were popular when I was growing up.So share with us some of your "teen years" music.Thank you.Karen
Music world lost Rawls, Pickett, others in 2006
LOU RAWLS Velvet-voiced singer and longtime community activist Lou Rawls, 72, January 6 in Los Angeles. His trademark song "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine," was released in 1976 and exemplifies the classic "Philadelphia Sound." Rawls recorded 52 albums in a career that spanned nearly five decades and won Grammy Awards for hits "Your Good Thing (Is About to End)," "Natural Man" and "Lady Love." He also played a major role in United Negro College Fund telethons in the '80s that raised more than $200 million and appeared in 18 movies and 16 TV series. WILSON PICKETT Soul/R&B legend Wilson Pickett, 64, January 19 in Virginia. In 1965, Pickett signed a solo deal with Atlantic, scoring a No. 21 pop hit with "In the Midnight Hour," which he co-wrote with legendary sessions musician Steve Cropper. A slew of late '60s R&B/soul hits followed, five of which reached No. 1 on The Billboard R&B charts. Pickett was a 1991 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His last studio album, "It's Harder Now," (1999) won W.C. Handy Awards for soul/blues album of the year and comeback album of the year, and Pickett himself was named soul/blues male artist of the year. GENE...
A Night at the Opera .
A Night at the Opera For many moviegoers, the Marx Brothers stand as the kings of comedy, stretching back from the days of their early Broadway shows when the troupe still included Zeppo and Gummo, to the cinematic peaks of their career starring a mute Harpo, a motor-mouthed Chico and the perpetually wisecracking Groucho. But in 1933, following the disappointing release of Duck Soup, kings they were not. The Marx Brothers were all but washed up -- at least as far as their studio, Paramount Pictures, was concerned. The film, which is now considered a classic, turned off both audiences and critics, and the fallout left the team looking away from the silver screen for work. For about a year, they held down the Hollywood comedian's equivalent of odd jobs: Chico and Groucho had a radio series and performed on stage, while Harpo left to set up shop in the Soviet Union, the first American performer to do so following the communist revolution. Oh, and he also smuggled papers for the U.S. government. For Morning Edition, Jeff Lunden reports that although things may have looked dreary for the brothers' film careers, their greatest success was just around the corner. As part...
Make the Bad Christmas Songs Go Away!!!
Anyone else out there notice that some of the songs we only hear between Thanksgiving and New Years need to be thrown out with the turkey gizzard? I mean, when a song is supposed to be all warm and cheezy, you are ready to brace yourself for the full munster, but some just leave you wanting to kill something AND NOW!Since the only thing that should be killed around Chistmas is the goose for dinner, there are some Christmas songs that should just be allowed to go the way of Michael Bolton’s cover version of the Otis Redding Classic “Sittin’ A the Dock of the Bay”… in other words, they should never have happened, and those of us who heard it are forever damaged. So since you are dying to get to the brunt of the article… Here goesSanta Baby: Ok, I get it, Eartha Kitt sat down and thought… Hmm, what would be more annoying than the sound of a cat and a bat fighting in a dark alley? Then the words and tune of this song just popped in her head… From then on cats have been ripping out their own eardrums just to enjoy the sound of not hearing it every year.Blue Christmas: This song (in and of itself) doesn’t bother me so much. I mean it is sappy and sentimental, but...
