Bicycle riders' risks on a busy highway --- have you ever seen one?
Just this morning, I saw one bicycle rider side by side with a motorcycle rider while waiting for the traffic light to change. I noticed that the motorcyle rider had his helmet on and so with the rider at his back. I also noticed too well that the bicycle rider beside him did not have any protective head gear on. I saw that this was too risky for him.Have you seen a similar situation in your place? Have you, at one time, observed or noticed other potential risks these two bikers have?
Is there a "No speed limit" highway in Germany?
Had anyone traveled to Germany before? I heard a co - worker who recently been to Germany, some interesting he told us. There is a highway where it has no speed limit, you can drive as fast as you can. Isn't that crazy? People might driving like crazy in that country, and there might be a lot of accident happen then. Is that a truth? I just want to verify this fact.
Do you slow down for highway workers and emergency vehicles?
I believe it was Christmas eve when a state trooper was killed. the roads had some snow on them, he responded to an accident and had requested an ambulance for the injured. the only available ambulance was busy so the officer sat inside his car at the scene to wait for it. he sat in his car for 45 minutes then remembered that he had to get something out of the trunk. he no sooner got to the rear of the police car when an SUV came along and hit him, killing him instantly. had he waited a few minutes before exiting the car, he might be alive today. did the SUV slow down or did he hit his brakes at the last minute to slow down and lose control then, killing the officer? no one knows for sure. my thoughts are they were going much too fast for the road conditions and now a police officer is dead. do you slow down when you see highway workers or emergency vehicles on the road? if someone does not slow down and someone gets killed, what do you think the punishment should be? in this case of the state trooper being killed, i think a minimum of 6 months in jail would be a nice start but then, the timing of it all, as soon as he got out of his car after sitting in it for 45 min, he is hit...
What is your favourite Cross - Country/ highway based movie?
You can tell me any genre like Drama, Thriller, action comedy, adventure, romance anything...But please tell it from your experience.
Driving on the Highway.
I recently got a debt free vehicle with a small corner of the windshield cracked, while driving the van today, I wondered how many people have driven on The Highway and experienced a rock or some other foreign object from these fast 18 wheelers or dump trucks fly up and put a crack in your windshield? It hasn't happened to me personally, but I used to work for a call center where it would happen on a daily basis. So I was wondering if any mylotters had any experience with this sort of challenge? Were you able to get your insurance carrier or the companies insurance carrier's to pay for the repairs?not slow down and someone gets killed, what do you think the punishment should be? in this case of the state trooper being killed, i think a minimum of 6 months in jail would be a nice start but then, the timing of it all, as soon as he got out of his car after sitting in it for 45 min, he is hit and killed..... maybe it was just 'his time' to go? what do you think?
IF There were no "Do Not Litter" signs on the highway
what sort of things would you jettison from your fast moving vehicle? Would you use this as an opportunity to clean out your car/truck? This is only meant in fun, I wouldn't be chucking anything out on the side of the road in real life. Just think of all the ways we can lighten our loads while driving.
Do you know anything about savings highway?
Do you belong? Have you been paid? Do you like it? Do you need a referral if it's a good site?
On a dark,desert highway.....
You are driving through the desert at night following an Armored car. The door pops open and two huge bags of money fall out and just as quickly the door closes. The armored car personell don't notice and keep on driving. What do you do?
Are we all on the 'osteoporosis highway' or is just me?
I was setting in the Breast Cancer office today waiting for my appointment to have that wonderful mammogram exam that I have to have done every year now. I picked up the May 2009 issue of Family Circle because it had a bouguet of lilacs on it and I love them so it caught my eye. In it I found an article on the Dynamic Duo of Vitamin D and Calcium that prevents osteoporosis and debilitating fractures. They are finding some interesting things out about Osteoporosis. The article also stated that women as early as in their 40's are being diagnosed. (I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 1995 or so. I wasn't told much about it but I started feeling it. I think the arthritis that I feel in my left hip and my knees is caused as much by that as by over weight. I take a tablet called Advance Triple Strength Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM with Joint Lubricant. Ugly grey pills. I can really feel the different within just afew days.)The articles says: 'Experts recommend a daily dose of 1,000 to 1,400 mg.s of calcium and 800 to 1,000 IUD of vitamin d. Found in dairy products the mineral calcium helps increases bone density, while vitamin d, which the body produces in response to sunlight,...
Indian highway.
A typical day in the Indian highway we find is full of neat little shacks with tables serving food like Rotis(a sort of bread made with flour),lentils, chicken and other meat curries to go with the rotis. We find truck drivers, youngsters and couples enjoying the atmosphere and food. The truck drivers after a hard journey rest under the starry sky in beds made of wood and natural chord.Dear mylotters please share your view on this neat feature of Indian Countryside.
