myLot Discussions| Google Chrome | | Does anyone here use the new web browser Google Chrome? I heard about it a couple weeks ago and downloaded it and ran it as a test. I absolutely love it! I am normally a firefox user, but am now a converted Chrome user. I have noticed it does have some kinks in running flash applications, but those should be worked out shortly I expect. Its a million times faster then firefox, which is amazing. I had a friend download it and she reported it was almost like she had a new computer, the browser was so fast and efficient. I do miss some of the firefox add-ons that I can't live without, but Google is reporting that once they release the stable version of Chrome (its currently in BETA) we can expect the same great add-ons that we've come to know and love with firefox. When that happens, I am a true believer!

| | What can we get form good books???? | | The old Chinese proverb goes,"to open a bood is always beneficial"Many of us read books everday. But not all of us know clearly what we can get form reading good books. The following are my ideas on the benefit of reading good books
1,Good books can giv e us pleasure. There are many kinks of joy to be found in good books.
2,Good books can offer us companionship. With good books in hand,we need never be lonely. The people we meet in the book may delight us either because they resemble human friends that we hold dear,or because they present unfamiliar types that we are glad to welcome as new friends
Since we can derive form good books pleasure, companionship we should read as many good books as possible.
| | RIM’s answer to the iPhone! | | BlackBerry Thunder is Now Storm
The BlackBerry Thunder was going to be RIM’s answer to the iPhone. With its large touch screen and seemingly sleek design, it could not go wrong. It's even undergone a name change. It's now called the BlackBerry 9530 Storm.
What reports are stating is that the 9530 will be launched in a CDMA version exclusively for Verizon. Of course the company is still working out the kinks in the handset.
There’s no word yet on the official availability or the pricing so stay tuned.
| | | Still Married...After Thinking She Was Divorced... | | My best friend just found out some news..after thinking she was divorced from a man she had been married to for three years, she found out that the divorce was never finalized!!!![em]shocked[/em]
What happened was that on the last day they were to go to court over the divorce, one of the lawyers never showed up and the judge ended up not signing the papers. Since the judge didn't sign the papers, the divorce was never finalized. Well for five years my friend thought she was divorced and went on living her life. Her "ex" was going to get married again and his soon-to-be went on the internet and checked into his background. Well she found out that her soon-to-be new husband was still married! So she quickly broke it off and he went looking for his "ex" wife. When he found her and explained the situation to her, she was livid! She was already settled into a lifestyle she enjoyed and was content with. Now she had to deal with the fact that she was still married to a guy who she thought cheated on her to begin with which is part of the reason they divorced. Well, they ended up talking and when it was all said and done they decided to get back together again! Turns out, he didn't...
| | What the heck is the point of a minimum payout, anyways? | | I've always wondered this in my head for a long time since I began earning online in various sites. Why is there a minimum payout? It never really made sense to me. I get the idea of it at the beginning when new sites are unstable & still working out the kinks in their system but after all that is solved and they have reliable advertisers, what's the hold-up? I wouldn't mind requesting payout & receiving it next month, I just don't like the idea that there is a minimum payout in the first place. My only other thought is that having a minimum payout is for the thought that some advertisers might bail out or just not pay the site, in which case it's a good idea to collect funds just in case to keep the legitimacy of the site in-tact..However, an easy fix to that would be to just not 100% guarantee the earnings. If an advertiser bails out, the ad's you clicked that corresponded to that advertiser would just be removed. Problem solved![em]lol[/em]Do you feel the same way? What're your thoughts on the point of a minimum payout on some sites?[em]blink[/em] | |
| | If I created a credit card with 1% interest would you apply? | | This discussion goes along with my previous post, "What would you do if you could be debt free?" If you didn't respond to that one, jump on over and let me know. This one isn't part two but it goes along with that thought. Imagine if you could dump all your consumer debt onto a credit card with 1% interest, would that sound enticing? Do you see any drawbacks, kinks, or pitfalls? I'm willing to coax you or deter you, sell me why or why not. | |
| | Feeling Down? 7 Ways to Pick Yourself Back Up! | | From time to time, we all get a little down, maybe even a little depressed. Maybe we are feeling overwhelmed, or feel bad because we’re not doing well with our goals. There are many reasons for feeling down, and I’m not qualified to discuss all of them, their implications, or clinical treatment. What I can talk about are some things that have worked for me.
Feeling a little depressed can interfere with achieving our goals. We know we should be doing something, but we just don’t feel like doing anything. This can last for a long time if you don’t head it off as soon as possible and take action. Here are some of the things that work best for me: 1. Make a list. Sometimes we are depressed simply because we are overwhelmed with all the things we have to do that we haven’t gotten around to doing. You might be into GTD, but sometimes every GTDer falls behind with his system, and sometimes you just don’t have the energy to do so. So all the “stuff” that’s in our head can overwhelm us. Start simply by picking up a piece of paper and a pen, and making a list of the most pressing things you have to do. Sometimes it’s work stuff, sometimes it’s stuff around the house that’s bothering us,...
